Today she tells us about the "Christmas Bird Count" (CBC) research which has been going on over 100 years. The Yolo Audubon Society is seeking volunteers to help with its CBC, a one-day event to count all the birds in a 'count circle' is near Winters. (The same area is counted each year mid-December so that researchers will have good annual comparison data.) Dozens of Davis residents volunteer to help, and newcomers are always welcome. Many other CBCs happen in Northern California; Mary will tell us when and where.
