Nene geese, Kauai, Hawaii

Nene geese have been re-introduced to parts of Hawaii where they had been predated by introduction of the mongoose. A few original flocks remain, but most Nenes now in the wild descend from captive-bred pairs released into their historic ranges after predator removal programs.
