An overabundance of elephants in Tarangire National Park (Tanzania) is permanently reducing the carrying capacity for elephants in the Crater. Competition is forcing them to eat parts of trees they would normally not use, destroying trees which would have produce food later, and causing ever further shortages each season.
This process was slowly eliminating the famous baobab "upside-down" trees.
